As we are piloting our training methodology and partners are busy rolling out workshops, we would like you to meet our trainers. As part of their training in March in Athens, they learned how to teach young migrants and refugees to record video interviews only with their mobile phones at hand. And, how did they learn that? By interviewing each other! In these interviews they talk about their expectations of the WELCOME project. So, meet our trainers and hear why they are motivated to work with migrants and refugees and to do creative IT workshops.

One might say that it is not really possible to record and edit video interviews without expensive professional equipment. We say – go for it! Of course, there’s a lot to be improved with regard to quality and sound, as you can see in the videos above, but it’s already a good start and we hope to empower young migrants and refugees to take their mobile phone (often the only devise their dispose of), get out there and use it as a tool to connect with people, ask them questions about their lives, customs, traditions. Video editing is another important and transferable skill that they will learn. A skills they could use in many different work or leisure contexts.
