Digitalisiation and Participation: exchange about digital WELCOME
The productive and creative use of digital media offers good orientation and preparation for participation in our society. Young refugees can benefit from this use of media, but need some support to do so.
We would therefore like to discuss approaches to digital inclusion with you and cordially invite you to our exchange meeting on “Digital Participation” with the ReDi School, the Stiftung Digitale Chancen and BENN Mitte.
When? Thursday, 9.5.2019 from 18.00 h to 19.30 h
Where? BENN Mitte Office, Samoastraße 7, 13353 Berlin, Germany
The Digital Opportunities Foundation presents a training programme for young refugees that was developed and implemented within the Digital WELCOME project and is now available as a free resource to other institutions. The training is based on digital storytelling, digital journalism and coding with scratch skills in dealing with digital media to give young newcomers a good orientation and preparation for their participation in society. The training modules will be presented and tips will be given on how they can be implemented as workshops and trainings in libraries as well as youth and neighbourhood centres.
The ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit digital school for technically interested locals and newcomers in Germany. They promote valuable digital skills and provide their students with a strong network of technology leaders, students and alumni to create new opportunities for all. At the event, the ReDi School will present its offerings and discuss topics related to the volunteering of refugees.
